On August 12, 2005, Vista Gold Corp. (the “Company”) issued a press release reporting, among other things, its financial results for the quarter and six months ended June 30, 2005, as reported in the Company’s Quarterly Report on Form 10-Q filed that day with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.  Also reported in summary form in the press release were recent assay results of a drill program to explore the Tocopilla area north of the Paredones Amarillos gold deposit in Mexico.  The press release is furnished as Exhibit 99.1 and is attached hereto.
