On July 19, 2007, the board of directors of Regions Financial Corporation (“Regions”) appointed Dr. John E. Maupin, Jr. to the Regions’ board. Regions’ board of directors has been increased to nineteen members. Dr. Maupin has been assigned to the Risk Committee of the Board of Directors. In addition, Dr. Maupin was granted options to purchase 7,000 shares of Regions’ common stock under the Regions Financial Corporation 2006 Long Term Incentive Plan. Dr. Maupin was also appointed a director of Regions Bank, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Regions. For additional information, see the press release attached hereto as Exhibit 99.1.
