Singapore - 25 Oct, 2023 - ViaRT Award, a Children’s Upcycled Art Competition is excited to announce its fourth edition! This year, ViaRT invites primary and secondary students in Singapore to participate in the annual art competition, titled "ARTOCHANGE - Make an artwork or design item to help form sustainable habits", in support of the Recycle Right campaign by the National Environment Agency (NEA) to encourage the 3R culture.
The aim of this year’s competition is to encourage children to form sustainable habits through creative expression. Students are invited to use upcycled materials to craft artwork or design items that can help promote sustainability habits. This can include but is not limited to, items such as reusable bags, containers, or even decorative pieces that promote environmentally friendly habits.
Alternatively, students are also welcomed to create any other forms of artworks to express their concerns on sustainability issues, like plastic waste, climate change or ocean pollution. Recycled material in their creation is encouraged.
The submission period will run from September 11th to November 26th, 2023. The artworks will be judged based on their creativity, originality, and effectiveness in promoting sustainable habits.
The competition will include three categories: PARKROYAL COLLECTION Marina Bay Best Sustainable Message Award (for the artwork that most effectively promotes sustainable habits), The Most Creative Award (for the most creative piece of artwork), and The Most Artistic Award (for the most aesthetically pleasing artwork).
First prize winners will receive either a cash reward or an incredible staycation package courtesy of M Social Singapore. The winners and finalists' artworks will be potentially displayed at the Sustainable Singapore Gallery in 2024.
