Gustavo Páez looking to continue family soccer legacy in MLS

Miami, FL - The Venezuelan soccer star Gustavo Paez who has a well known career around the world is ready to score for the MLS. With over 11,700 minutes played and over 35 international goals scored, he is being scouted to bring to the US the success he has built on multiple continents.

He has stared in the two most important competitions at the club level in South America, the CONMEBOL Libertadores and the Copa Sudamericana. From Colombia to Venezuela, the continents top clubs have witnessed the high performance of the striker in which he has served as captain for clubs such as Deportivo Lara, Mineros de Guayana and Zamora FC.

He is one of the few Venezuelans who took his first steps as a professional in Slovenian football and in Spain with Mallorca, but different clubs from his nation have always been in line to request his presence. In 2014 he signed with Deportivo La Guaira, but one campaign was enough to move to Europe again and thus play Lega Pro 1 with Messina of Italy.

Back on Merida soil, he sealed his contract with Estudiantes de Mérida, and then went to Kaizer Chiefs of the South African Premier Soccer League for three years, with whom he played even more succesfuly receiving awards as a player in different matches and being named the top eleven.

Paez became the first Venezuelan to appear for  a nike commercial in a deal that had his face on billboards across South Africa.

In every season Paez has showed up to claim a prize.  Among the most important was serving as captain for the First Division championship of the 2015 FUTVE league season obtained with Zamora FC. Also, in the  2018-2019 COSAFA Cup with Kaizer Chiefs.

Every footballer is born with the dream of wearing the jersey of his country and thanks to his skills, Páez has had the privilege of wearing the uniform of the Venezuelan national team since 2005. His debut with the national team was with the sub 15 category where he attended the Mundialito and the South American Championship held in Bolivia. Since then he has attended every major tournament with the Vinotinto inlcuding two South Americana Cups.

It is this steller resume that makes MLS a natural next step.  Joining the MLS would bring him together with his fellow countrymen Junior Moreno, Josef Martínez, Jefferson Savarino, Cristhian Makoun, Ronald Hernández, Cristian Cásseres and Pablo Bonilla, some of the outstanding Venezuelans that currently play in the MLS.
