Exclusive Interview With Husband Of Dr. Antoinette Candia-Bailey To Support Workplace Anti-bullying Law

“Don’t let them sweep this under the rug,” were the last words by Dr. Antoinette Candia-Bailey before taking her life January 8, 2024. She well-documented and reported the persistent bullying of President John Moseley of Lincoln University in Missouri and, unfortunately, university authorities failed to conduct a proper investigation and held no one accountable.

Candia-Bailey’s husband Anthony witnessed the university’s intentional psychological abuse including retaliation. Her family and friends want justice like the over 50 million people in the U.S. who have experienced the silent pain and invisible bruising of workplace bullying.

On the heels of the one-year anniversary of her death, her husband and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority line sister, Crystal Jackson, will share their stories and support for a workplace anti-bullying law with the national advocacy group End Workplace Abuse (EWA) during its first annual “Voice & Action Virtual Rally” on New Year’s Day, January 1, 2025, at 1pm EST.

The rally will honor the brave and courageous whistleblowers about pervasive work abuse, raise awareness about its effects, and introduce the groundbreaking Workplace Psychological Safety Act (WPSA) that provides better legal protection. Currently, six countries have anti-bullying laws, but the U.S. does not.

Join hundreds of EWA members nationwide as they share their experiences and rally others to join this collective body to implore state legislatures to pass the WPSA. Massachusetts and Rhode Island have heard public testimonies and 2025 is promising with commitments from other legislators across the country to introduce the bill.

In 2022, Deb Falzoi and Vicki Courtemanche founded EWA having spent years of grassroots campaigning for substantive change. Today the organization is bolstered with the support of EWA State Chapters, Bill Directors and members around the U.S., including workplace abuse survivor Andrea Morehead Allen. While fighting breast cancer, the former veteran television news anchor walked away in June 2020 from the pervasive workplace bullying that nearly killed her. The 7-time Emmy Awardwinning journalist and founder of My Silence Is Not for Sale is sponsoring and producing the rally with the goal of educating, healing, and inspiring more voices to take action against workplace psychological abuse and pass the WPSA. OUR silence is not for sale.
