ProServeIT Hosts Second Annual #EmpowerWomen Event to Celebrate International Women’s Day

ProServeIT Hosts Second Annual #EmpowerWomen Event to Celebrate International Women's Day

ProServeIT Corporation, in partnership with Advica Health, the YMCA of Greater Toronto, and MacKay CEO Forums, successfully hosted the second annual #EmpowerWomen event on March 28th, 2024, at Microsoft Canada’s head office in Toronto. The event, presented by ProServeIT, aimed to celebrate International Women's Day and empower women in the community.

The event attracted over 100 attendees, including high school students, who gathered both in person and online to participate in engaging sessions and discussions. Attendees generously contributed to Dress for Success Toronto whose mandate is to enable women to feel confident at job interviews by making clothing donations, furthering the initiative's impact on women's empowerment.

Highlights from the event included a keynote address by Mihae Ahn, VP of Marketing at ProServeIT, on inspiring inclusion and belonging in traditionally male-dominated industries. The agenda also featured insightful panel discussions on topics such as women's health, tackling the invisible load, and fostering networking opportunities.

Caroline Mikhail, Director of Advisory at LineZero, led a thought-provoking panel session titled "Tackling the Invisible Load." This session delved into the challenges faced by women in managing invisible or unrecognized workloads, offering practical strategies for addressing these issues in both personal and professional settings.

Throughout the event, various statistics were shared, revealing the current landscape of gender representation in leadership roles. For instance, it was noted that 8% of CEO positions in the S&P 500 are held by women, while globally, only 5.4% of CEO positions are occupied by women. Other statistics highlighted disparities in Google image search results for "CEO" and gender pronoun ratios in language databases.

"We are thrilled to have hosted another successful #EmpowerWomen event, bringing together individuals passionate about promoting gender equality and empowering women," said Mihae Ahn, VP of Marketing at ProServeIT. "The overwhelming support and engagement from our attendees underscore the importance of initiatives like these in driving positive change."
