MELBOURNE, AU / ACCESSWIRE / December 17, 2024 / Racing-focused game development studio Grease Monkey Games has announced that its latest title - Torque Drift 2 (TD2) - was launched on Steam, the world's largest digital game distribution platform.

To celebrate the game's Steam debut, TD2's developers have also deployed a new update featuring prominent race driver Michael "Mad Mike" Whiddett and his signature custom Mazda cars - "Madbul," "Badbul," and "Fursty" - alongside a slew of other exciting additions.

TD2 is a skill-driven motorsport game set in a fictional, modern-day Japanese city, featuring extensive vehicle customization, true-to-life physics with sim rig support, intricately detailed tracks, competitive gameplay, and a plethora of fully licensed iconic cars from well-known manufacturers, like Nissan, Mazda, Subaru, Ford, Honda and over 60 parts brands like Liberty Walk, Rotiform, and so much more where players have extensive customization options using authentic parts from real-world manufacturers. Thanks to its native mod support and a number of community-oriented features, the game delivers immersive solo and multiplayer experiences designed to accurately mirror real-world drift dynamics.

Alongside the studio's collaboration with Mad Mike, the latest update introduces new features, including an in-game Paintshop where players can freely apply different paints to their cars, the new Ebisu track, a car damage system, new player levels, and performance optimizations.

For players experiencing the game for the first time on Steam, there's even more to discover: Formula Drift Pro tracks like Irwindale and Long Beach, featuring legendary drivers such as 2024 season champion James Deane, Vaughn Gittin Jr., and Chris Forsberg. Fans can also get behind the wheel of Pro Driver Adam LZ's Nissan S15 Pro Car, the New 240SZ, and explore his personal LZ Compound.

The game also boasts iconic JDM cars, brands, and tracks, including the Toyota AE86, Mazda RX-7 FD, Ebisu Speedway, Hakone Touge, and Daikoku Parking Area. With body kits from Liberty Walk, Top Secret, and Street Hunter, players can customize their rides to reflect their personal style.

The current Early Access version of Torque Drift 2 (v0.11) is fully playable for free on the Epic Games Store. With the upcoming Steam release, Torque Drift 2 will transition to a paid model. The game will be available at an introductory price of $15 for the first two weeks, increasing to $20 after the promotional period ends.

As a thank you to early supporters, existing players who have spent money in the game prior to the Steam release will receive the paid version for free.
