Marissa Mitrovich to Join the Fiber Broadband Association Leadership Team as Vice President of Public Policy

The Fiber Broadband Association today announced that it has expanded its leadership team with the addition of Marissa Mitrovich, who will serve as Vice President of Public Policy. Mitrovich, most recently Vice President of Federal Legislative Affairs for Frontier, will lead the Association’s advocacy efforts before Congress, the White House and executive branch, and regulatory agencies in Washington, D.C. A telecom veteran, Mitrovich will work to ensure that our nation’s investment in broadband will yield the best possible outcome in the form of digital equity and improve the quality of life for all Americans.

“The fiber broadband industry is at an all-time high in terms of demand and opportunity. Americans are hungry for fast, reliable broadband, Congress and the administration have committed momentous support for broadband infrastructure, and the NTIA has stated a preference for fiber. However, much work still remains,” said Gary Bolton, President and CEO at the Fiber Broadband Association. “We’re pleased to welcome Marissa to our leadership team. Her expertise and experience will help us motivate policy makers to support fiber broadband and advance our mission to close the digital equity gap forever.”

Mitrovich brings more than two decades of experience in governmental affairs and telecom to the Fiber Broadband Association and will officially join the Association on January 4, 2023. Prior to Frontier, she was at Verizon where she was Vice President of Public Policy and interfaced with the administration and worked on state government affairs issues and corporate responsibility initiatives. Mitrovich also brings experience in workforce development and public-private partnerships from her time as Vice President of Program Development for the Wireless Infrastructure Association, which she will apply to advance the Fiber Broadband Association’s programs, including the OpTIC Path™ fiber technician training course.

“I am excited to join the Fiber Broadband Association team and honored to represent its members, giving them a greater voice in the nation’s capital at a time when broadband is a national priority,” said Mitrovich. “Many different types of service providers, infrastructure builders, and solution vendors make up the Fiber Broadband Association’s membership. This diversity is a powerful resource to inform bipartisan public policy solutions that will benefit every American. I look forward to representing the companies who are the collective force delivering the most resilient and reliable broadband connectivity across the country and beyond.”

Beyond her work in Washington, Mitrovich will lead the Fiber Broadband Association’s Public Policy Committee, alongside Co-Chairs Chris Champion from C Spire and Ariane Schaffer from Google Fiber. She will also be involved in the Fiber Broadband Association’s Women in Fiber Committee.
