Mednow Partners With Curv Health to Provide Canadians With a Virtual Integrated Diabetes Management Program

  •  Mednow offers on-demand pharmacy services to Curv Health members seeking additional support
  • Curv Health expands the Mednow suite of health services further into diabetes management services

Mednow Inc. (“Mednow”) (TSXV: MNOW), Canada’s on-demand virtual pharmacy, is pleased to announce a strategic partnership with Curv Health, a digital health company that provides low-cost health services to tens of thousands of employees across Canada. Curv Health and Mednow’s care teams have partnered on an integrated care program for type 1 and type 2 diabetes patients across Canada. The program consists of a 16-week regime of guided physical and nutritional education and activities to engage patients of all levels - as designed by Curv Health’s Certified Diabetes Educators (CDE) with integrated support from the pharmacy care team at Mednow.

Mednow is a pharmacy services provider for Curv Health, offering its members access to caring pharmacist advice, fast, free, often same day delivery of prescriptions and over the counter medication as well as medication reviews, automatic refills in easy PillSmart™ packaging, virtual doctor visits and mental health support. Curv Health patients will also benefit from Mednow’s recently launched Total Health offering, a nutrition and wellness program that delivers a professional grade vitamins and supplement program, tailored for the individual by an expert nutritionist.

Curv Health will complement and deepen Mednow’s holistic health service offerings with health coaching, physiotherapy, psychotherapy, nutrition, virtual rehabilitation and more.

“We at Mednow love what Curv Health is doing to provide people easy access to health and wellness services and programs that can make a real difference in plan members’ lives,” said Dave Marantz, Chief Revenue Officer at Mednow. “The pharmacy has a huge role to play in any total member wellness program. We’re thrilled with this synergistic partnership that makes Mednow the exclusive pharmacy partner for Curv Health.”

“Curv Health exists to maximize meaningful years lived. Every service we add for employers and their employee members has to serve that mission,” said Shea Balish, Chief Executive Officer Curv Health. “Pharmacy is an important part of any total wellness program and we’re proud to partner with Mednow and connect our members with all the benefits a full service, holistic digital pharmacy service provides.”

The Importance of Employee Wellness

Employee benefits are an important consideration for workforces, particularly those benefits pertaining to care, flexibility and mental health. The Harvard Business review finds that business leaders are showing an increased focus on supporting their employees and the business at large by revising benefit strategies. According to their 2021 study, approximately 83% of adult children have sought new care options for their senior loved-ones during the COVID-19 pandemic, and approximately 41% of employers plan to expand mental health benefits in the upcoming year 1.1

Mednow’s offering of same-day prescription delivery, currently offered in certain major Canadian cities with plans to expand across Canada, along with its technology offerings such as PillSmart™, the Karie pill organizer and virtual and home visit doctor services and its strategic partnerships with providers of mental health assessment tools, provides plan members with increased access to a wide range of services in a digital platform. Mednow believes its robust health service offerings provide plan members with a level of accessibility and efficiency which is not easily replicable with traditional brick and mortar pharmacies.
