Morrison Cohen announced that Bobby Codjoe joined the firm as Director of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, furthering the firm’s leadership in building a diverse and inclusive workplace. Bobby joins Morrison Cohen from another major NY law firm where he served in a similar function.

Bobby will be responsible for driving initiatives that help establish a positive, diverse, equitable, inclusive and welcoming work environment and for fostering connections with organizations that represent Morrison Cohen’s values. He will also be leading and driving the firm’s mentorship program initiative to accelerate the personal and professional development of mentees.

Bobby is known for his creativity in the DEI space and his ability to put his ideas into practice. He will work with Senior Managing Director of Operations, Jenni Eastman and the firm’s DEI Committee to implement strategies that create a culture of understanding and acceptance of race, ethnicity, age, gender, religion, sexual orientation, disability, economic status and other diverse backgrounds.

Bobby received his J.D. from Howard University School of Law and began his career as a public defender at The Legal Aid Society. Prior to his most recent role, he was the director of the Office of Diversity and Inclusion at Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, and was previously an associate counsel at the New York City Fire Department, where he advanced the Department’s efforts in the recruitment, inclusion and retention of diverse employees.
