City National Entertainment CEO Kelly Coffey Joins Operation HOPE Global Board of Advisors

Operation HOPE, a national nonprofit dedicated to helping low- and moderate-income Americans thrive in an ever-changing economy, announced today that City National Entertainment CEO Kelly Coffey has joined its Global Board of Advisors.

Ms. Coffey is the chief executive officer of City National Entertainment, Private Banking and Wealth Management, where she is focused on bringing City National and RBC’s expertise to the bank’s Entertainment, Private Banking and Wealth Management clients, while her teams deliver strategic advice and a premier client experience. She brings to Operation HOPE more than 30 years of experience as a financial leader, most recently as CEO of City National Bank and, previously, as CEO of J.P. Morgan’s U.S. private bank. Ms. Coffey has been widely recognized for her leadership, including as an Entertainment Business Visionary by Los Angeles Times B2B Publishing (2024), Diversity, Inclusion and Equity CEO of the Year by the Los Angeles Business Journal (2021), CEO of the Year by Los Angeles Times B2B Publishing, one of the Most Powerful Women in New York by Crain’s New York Business, and one of Los Angeles’ 500 most influential leaders by the Los Angeles Business Journal. She has been named to American Banker’s list of the 25 Most Powerful Women in Banking several times, as well as to the publication’s list of Most Powerful Women in Finance.

She joins a distinguished Board that includes some of the country’s top executives in business, banking, technology, and the non-profit sector. Advisory board members provide guidance and support to Operation HOPE, which provides financial literacy education and coaching to youth, adults and small business owners across the U.S.

“Kelly has built her distinguished career on a high caliber of leadership and client service and a commitment to strengthening communities,” said John Hope Bryant, Operation HOPE Founder, Chairman and CEO. “Her track record of client-centric leadership at City National and her expertise in building committed teams and driving organizational growth will be invaluable to Operation HOPE as we continue to grow our reach in bringing financial literacy to all communities.”

“Operation HOPE does incredible work to advance economic opportunity through financial education and literacy,” said Ms. Coffey. “I look forward to helping them expand on these efforts and level the playing field for even more individuals, families and small business owners.”

About Operation HOPE, Inc.

Since 1992, Operation HOPE has been moving America from civil rights to "silver rights" with the mission of making free enterprise and capitalism work for the underserved—disrupting poverty for millions of low and moderate-income youth and adults across the nation. Through its community uplift model, HOPE Inside, which received the 2016 Innovator of the Year recognition by American Banker magazine, Operation HOPE has served more than 4 million individuals and directed more than $3.2 billion in economic activity into disenfranchised communities—turning check-cashing customers into banking customers, renters into homeowners, small business dreamers into small business owners, minimum wage workers into living wage consumers, and uncertain disaster victims into financially empowered disaster survivors.
