Solana-Based Social Platform DSCVR Debuts “DSCVR Frames” as It Surpasses Half a Million Unique Visitors

As the platform’s first use-case of the DSCVR API, DSCVR Frames allows developers, partners, and creators to build embeddable applications into the DSCVR feed

DSCVR (pronounced “discover”), the largest Web3 social network and community building platform, today announced the launch of “DSCVR Frames” to further its mission of encouraging social media ownership, monetization, and distribution for a new generation of social media users, creators, and developers. Frames is DSCVR’s first use-case of the platform’s API which has been in development since 2023.

DSCVR Frames comes on the heels of the platform’s recent milestone of surpassing 500,000 monthly unique visitors. By leveraging Frames - which utilize The Open Graph Protocol for shared web content - developers can now create embeddable applications published directly onto the DSCVR feed. The addition of this innovative distribution channel increases the reach, engagement, and following of decentralized apps (dApps), providing them with a simple way to reach new audiences and go viral.

During alpha-testing of DSCVR’s API, minigames, raffles, polls, DSCVR Lootbox token drops, and Magic Eden NFT sales were published into the DSCVR feed and saw significant engagement. Frames leverages DSCVR’s proprietary Social Graph and feed technology which allows users to discover frames that trend amongst their friends and communities. For developers, the Social Graph and feed technology enable a new level of dApp virality. And with the ability to generate tokens and NFTs through these applications, DSCVR is also opening up new avenues of token distribution and monetization.

"DSCVR Frames represents a pivotal step forward in DSCVR's evolution, enabling composability across the web3 ecosystem,” said co-founder Rick Porter. “With the recent explosive growth of the Solana ecosystem, the time was ripe to introduce a Solana-focused alternative to the existing Frames infrastructure - one that caters specifically to the unique use cases of Solana-native applications. And by empowering developers to tap into our platform's rich ecosystem and wide user base, we're able to simultaneously foster a project’s reach and growth while providing more opportunities for users, developers, and creators to be rewarded. This is just the first step though - our API will continue to expand to allow for more robust embeddable applications and deeper integrations throughout DSCVR."

Frames is available starting today, March 27, to users, creators, developers and partners. To learn more about DSCVR, please visit https://dscvr.one and follow us on Twitter at @DSCVR1.
