But, a young dynamic traveling photographer and filmmaker from the city, Stevie Jordan, is all set to change the bad rap through his vision to elevate lives for people from all walks of life. At just 26-years of age, Stevie has not only worked with elite brands like Nike or Puma but he has also reached out to make lives better for patients in several hospitals across Maryland.
The young photographer from West Baltimore has earned a name for himself through his specialty in creating timeless art pieces through his lenses. He has already been covered by up to four prestigious magazines- Stevie is a popular name on social media too and his Instagram profile (@_shotbysteviej_) is bustling with a massive volume of around 12k followers. A humanitarian to the core, Stevie is aimed to make lives better for people through his camera and photography.
In an exclusive interview, the popular photographer shared that he is driven by the mission and dream to alter the city’s story by helping people to make the most of their optimum potential.
“I always believe in giving back to my community – I have received lots of love from my city and I wish to pay forward. I know my city is infamous for its crab-in-the-barrel attitude and I wish to change that through positive disruptions in people’s lives- including people from all backgrounds”, stated the visionary photographer.
As part of his community support endeavors, Stevie had visited several hospitals across the State to teach camera techniques and operation to patients with impairments. He is currently working on a new non-profit project that is committed to empower millions with industry-leading skills and knowledge to help them succeed in the photography world.
“I am currently offering my FIRST-ever ‘Eyetagraphy class’ that is designed to empower aspiring photographers with professional photography lessons. The class is extending a comprehensive course where you will learn all the significant aspects of the art and science of photography, covering camera operation, capture, and also editing”, noted Stevie adding that the new class will grow to offer a continuing course in near future.
A name of great repute across the modern professional and commercial photography scene, the 26-year-old pro shutterbug has grown to prominence real fast. At an age when most photographers start their career, Stevie has already worked for a bunch of esteemed names, including Apple, Nike, Puma, Ella Mai, Fox Sports, Shame Moore, Travis Scott, Kofi Scribe, Interscope, and more. He has worked with some of the most famous athletes of Baltimore as well, like Gervonta “TANK” Davis and Lorenzo “TRUCK” Simpson.
The fast rising photographer and filmmaker is also a favorite in the contemporary music industry. He has worked for both leading and emerging artists such as Stay Down Trevv’. At present, he is working as a filmmaker and photographer for renowned American rapper Lil Reek.
While asked what motivates him, Stevie revealed that he is always inspired by the happy faces that he witnesses while capturing moments through his lenses.
“For me, photography has always been a medium to express my joy, passion, and emotions. I am always energized and thrilled by the joy I see in people’s faces when I take their photographs. My message to budding photographers will be – love your art, find excitement in it, be prepared to work hard and harder, and be compassionate about people around you.”
