Youth are closely connected through science, and science advances through the development of youth. Today, the “Universal Gravitation π” showcase and exchange event of 2024 World Young Scientists Summit (WYSS) has officially kicked off at the Olympic Center in the Oujiang District of Wenzhou.

At the same time, the “Light of Science” torch was passed on site, with young scientists, entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, artists, and representatives from all walks of life from around the world igniting the spirit of technological innovation. This energy was spread across Wenzhou’s fertile ground for innovation and entrepreneurship, showcasing to the world the chinese innovation in Wenzhou.

The “Universal Gravitation π” showcase and exchange event, debuting at the 2024 World Young Scientists Summit (WYSS), will continue until November 17 for a duration of four days. The event highlights four major areas: exhibition, discussion, networking, and public open spaces. It gathers the most cutting-edge technological achievements and presents a vibrant and diverse industrial landscape. The goal is to promote comprehensive and in-depth connections among young scientists, enterprises, and research institutions, foster the application and transformation of quality scientific and technological achievements, accelerate the empowerment of local industrial transformation and high-quality economic development, and create a strong atmosphere of “Science brings the youth together”.

Inside the exhibition area, the “Leading the Future: Cutting-Edge Technology Enterprise Exhibition” high-tech corporate exhibition focuses on cutting-edge technological innovations. More than 20 leading domestic and international tech companies, including Huawei, Alibaba DAMO Academy, Hikvision, Yushi Technology, Baidu, Proxinnov Dimensional, LogiTek Full Prosperity, and Lotentek Technology, will showcase their technological innovation applications. New tech products like Baidu's driverless car Apollo, the RT-G spherical robot, a domestic AI drawing tool, and pocket 3D scanners will debut, giving audiences a firsthand experience of interactive and experiential technology products and services. Additionally, the space provided for young scientists and corporate research institutions to display innovative achievements and academic posters will showcase solid scientific and creative strength, offering a one-stop glimpse at the global forefront of technology.

It is worth noting that the “Witness Chinese Innovation in Wenzhou” achievement exhibition will display Wenzhou's innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem through introductions related to the innovation and transformation of traditional industries, the innovative development of emerging industries, the innovative incubation of future industries, and the innovation and reform of policy mechanisms, hence attracting top talent to “Embrace a Promising Future in Wenzhou”.

Listen to young scientists share their insights and engage in dialogues with industry experts. The “Universal Gravitation π” live seminar area has been created as a multifunctional thematic space that encompasses interaction, display, and performance, designed for scientists to share, interact, showcase innovative achievements, and for various exciting performances.

The public area features a range of creative product markets such as hardcore smart manufacturing, technology fashion, technological art, design living, electronic pets, and outdoor technology, along with many interesting and interactive technological art installations, bringing an imaginatively rich and exploratory technological feast to the attending youth.

The social area will host a series of cultural and interactive social experiences. Classic Wenzhou intangible cultural heritage projects, including Yueqing fine-line paper cutting, Rui’an woodblock printing, Pingyang lacquerware, and Ou embroidery, will all be featured, providing the audience with the opportunity to interact and communicate face-to-face with the inheritors of these traditions, thereby getting to know, understand, and fall in love with intangible heritage.

The “Universal Gravitation π” of this year’s WYSS gathers the vigor of youth and innovation and focuses on the international, academic, and youthful nature through online-offline synergy. It organically combines science and technology with culture and art, breaking away from the monolithic model of traditional academic exhibitions, allowing young scientists and the public to genuinely experience the creativity and diversity of technology. It also integrates cutting-edge scientific and technological industry achievements into immersive technological experiences and displays, narrating the stories of the epoch of science in the way of the youth.
