Updated Empirical Data on Hyper-ion HJT: Monthly Power Generation Gain in Saudi Arabia Reaches Up to 4.65%

By: Get News

August 9, 2024 - Recent test data reveals that under ambient temperature is between 35-40 ℃, the surface temperature of photovoltaic modules can be 50-70 ℃, with the internal components potentially even hotter. The most direct impact of high temperature weather on photovoltaic modules is that, with the increase of temperature, the photovoltaic conversion efficiency of the modules will decrease inversely, resulting in a decrease in the overall power generation efficiency of the photovoltaic power generation system. Moreover, extreme high temperatures can increase the likelihood of system failures, thereby affecting system stability.

To ensure stable operation of photovoltaic modules in practical application scenarios, minimizing efficiency loss and system failures under extreme heat is a critical consideration in PV technology and product development. The latest empirical data from Risen Energy’s Saudi Arabia Base shows that, from December 2023 to May 2024, Hyper-ion modules achieved an average daily power generation of 4.31Wh/W, with a generation gain 3.58% higher than TOPCon modules at the same site. This represents a 0.76% increase compared to the 2.82% gain recorded from February 2023 to February 2024. In April and May 2024, the daily average irradiance in Saudi Arabia reached 4.27 kWh/m2 and 4.75 kWh/m2, respectively, with average daily temperatures as high as 39.89 ° C and 44.64 ° C. Under these conditions, the monthly cumulative power generation of the HJT Hyper-ion modules reached 104.74 Wh/W and 130.49 Wh/W, with power generation gains 4.36% and 4.65% higher than TOPCon modules, respectively.

Showcasing the superior low-temperature coefficient of the Fuxi HJT modules, the power temperature coefficient of Risen Energy’s HJT Hyper-ion module is -0.24%/° C, highlighting the advantages of n-type modules and making it an ideal choice for high-power and high-quality installation needs. In Saudi Arabia, the monthly average temperature from December to February is 11-25 ° C, while from March to May it ranges between 19-36 ° C. During March to May, the increasing temperature directly contributed to the year-on-year power generation gains, showcasing the advantage of low temperature coefficient.

The mass-produced Fuxi HJT modules have an average bifacial rate of over 85%, In addition to extremely stable temperature coefficient, the unique and perfect symmetrical structure of HJT cell offers its significant bifacial advantages, optimizing sunlight utilization at the project site. As a leading product in PV industry, the mass-produced HJT Hyper-ion modules have an average bifacial factor of over 85%, the highest in the industry. This effectively enhances photoelectric conversion of PV system. Furthermore, the HJT Hyper-ion modules have passed the stringent 3xIEC tests by authoritative third-party organizations, demonstrating excellent weather resistance and reliability, ensuring the stability and safety of PV power generation systems in various extreme weather environments, including high temperatures.

With excellent performance and high-temperature resistance, Risen Energy’s HJT Hyper-ion modules have become the first choice for many large-scale and distributed PV projects, now deployed in nearly 50 countries and regions worldwide.
