Nebroo Hits Major Milestone In The Hearing Loss Industry

The small hearing aid company celebrates record growth, but says that this just highlights the scale of the problem facing Americans with hearing loss.

Nebroo, an innovative startup in the hearing loss industry, is proud to announce the achievement of a major milestone: serving 75,000 customers this year alone. They believe this rapid growth just demonstrates how much demand there is for an affordable hearing loss solution.

Nebroo’s strategy of putting a laser focus on price, with the goal to be affordable to everyone in the U.S. with mild to moderate hearing loss, has paid off. Most estimates put the average price of prescription hearing aids at over $4500 so the Over-The-Counter Hearing Aid Act of 2017 has allowed Nebroo to sell directly to consumers without requiring a prescription. And their rapid growth shows that many consumers wanted a hearing loss solution but had previously been priced out of the market.

“We are delighted to have reached this milestone,” said Devon Randall, CMO. “It proves what we always believed; that there are huge numbers of people in America with some level of hearing loss and they wanted a solution they could afford. But there are plenty of challenges ahead of us. Affordability is our core value but we’re always looking for ways to improve the hearing experience for all our customers while keeping costs low. Everyone’s hearing is unique, so we always need to find the balance with a device that does the best job for the most people.”

Nebroo has also been working on a new upgraded device, set to be launched next year, called Nebroo Infinity. A small scale early release to some customers has been extremely positive.

“What we’ve learnt this year is that while price is the number one concern for most customers, there is also demand for some upgraded features and functions. We know our hero product has to stay as affordable as possible so the best solution was to create a premium product, the Nebroo Infinity, that was still much more affordable than the average market price, but allowed our customer to choose more features and functions if they had a slightly higher budget. We’re delighted with the feedback on the product with some pre-launch customers but we’re still looking for ways to bring the production costs down further so we have the best possible deal for our customers when we launch.”

Nebroo also hopes that their growth will help lead to changes in other countries, particularly across Europe, so that similar over-the-counter hearing aid legislation will be passed, giving people with mild to moderate hearing loss the option to buy a hearing aid without a prescription and driving down costs.
