Thomas W. Dortch, Jr., Chairman, 100 Black Men of America, Inc. Rings NYSE Closing Bell

100 Black Men of America, Inc., the largest volunteer network of black men focused on mentoring minority youth, celebrated their long and successful history of educating and empowering deserving youth. The bell ringing commemorates the 36th Anniversary of their global headquarters being founded, which connected chapters from coast to coast and expanded the 100 Black Men movement that began in 1963. Chairman Thomas W. Dortch, Jr., along with members from the board of directors, partners and guests rang the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) Closing Bell at 4:00 p.m. EST on Monday, October 24, 2022. 

Also, in attendance to celebrate this milestone and the organization’s contribution to our nation and the world, were chapter leadership teams, 100 mentors from across the United States, stakeholders and family members. As the work of the 100 continues to impact the lives of youth across the U.S. and Internationally with programs and initiatives in the areas of mentoring, education, health and wellness, economic empowerment and leadership, the outcomes are the graduates that matriculate through college, go on to have successful careers and give back to countless communities, while mentoring others. The 100’s mentors and industry leaders also provide programs that enrich the lives of their mentees’ parents and the communities where they live.

“It was an honor to ring The Closing Bell and to celebrate the critical work that we do with friends of the 100,” said Chairman Dortch. “Having members of the board of directors here with representatives from our chapter network, and of course, some of our longstanding partners that have been integral to our success made it especially memorable. On behalf of all 100 Black Men members and the youth we serve, I thank the New York Stock Exchange for this amazing experience.”
