St. Louis Character: The Danforth Center's Toni Kutchan wants to expand science literacy in St. Louis

The Chicago native and SLU graduate spent two decades in Germany, teaching and studying how plants make medicinal compounds. Now vice president of research at the Danforth Center, she's also planning the future of science literacy initiatives at Academy of Science St. Louis, where she serves as board president.
