On October 22, 2022 from 9am to 3pm, New Heaven New Earth Church of Jesus (NHNE) will host a blood drive through Versiti Blood Center, expected to donate blood in an effort to address the national blood shortage in the USA through local cooperation.

Chicago, Illinois Oct 14, 2022 (Issuewire.com) - The blood drive will be held from 9 am to 3 pm CST at Oliver McCracken Middle School. New Heaven New Earth Church (Shincheonji) is inviting members of the local communities to attend the blood drive. Interested donors who can attend the October 22nd drive can make an appointment here: https://donate.illinois.versiti.org/donor/schedules/drive_schedule/5602757 Walk-ins are also welcome!

New Heaven New Earth Church of Jesus in the Midwest will partner with Versiti Blood Center to host a blood drive to address the blood shortage that the nation has continued to face. With blood shortages on the rise, due to many staffing shortages and a lack of traditional blood drives, New Heaven New Earth Church is inviting all to "join the effort and save lives".

Both domestically and overseas, New Heaven New Earth Church has been heavily involved with volunteer service. Most recently through the volunteer organization "We Are One" which is composed of around 90,000 young adults, the members have been able to participate in blood plasma donations and thus aid in the treatment of patients worldwide.

In the United States of the 35 percent of people who are eligible, only 3% donate blood. The Chicago region alone saw its worst blood crisis in years during 2021. Blood types O positive and O negative experienced the greatest storage. One donation alone can help to save even as many as 3 lives. Every 2 seconds someone in the U.S. needs blood and or platelets. These can only come from volunteer donors and cannot be manufactured. Despite a relatively simple process, however, many Americans do not participate because of myths surrounding blood donations.

Before each blood and platelet donation, a screening test measures the amount of hemoglobin within the body. Iron is an essential mineral that is part of hemoglobin which helps maintain the body's strength and energy. Therefore, leading up to the blood donation appointment, expectant donors can prepare a nutritious, well-balanced diet with foods rich in iron and high in vitamin C, and for frequent donors even taking multivitamins will help with proper blood levels.

The process for whole blood donation typically lasts about one hour, though the blood collection itself is usually about 10 minutes. Appointments for the October 22nd Blood Drive can be made here: https://bit.ly/NHNE-BloodDrive-10-22-22

NHNE's goal is to foster continued awareness of the value of blood donations. Through the "We Are One" Youth volunteer group, NHNE hopes to be able to inspire, support, and serve the members of the local community. NHNE is inviting all media to come and participate in spreading the life-giving news that NHNE is accomplishing both locally and abroad. Through more awareness of the critical shortage in the local communities NHNE aims to work together with more organizations to promote the change needing to be accomplished.
