KOMPAS published a full-page article focusing on Fuzhou’s construction of a modern international city and the “Two Countries, Twin Gardens” project between China and Indonesia

Before the opening of the 2022 G20 Bali summit, the national newspaper “KOMPAS” with the largest circulation in Indonesia published a full-page article on November 13, starting from the establishment of the China-Indonesia “Two Countries, Twin Gardens” project in Fuzhou, strengthening regional exchanges and cooperation, and focusing on construction of the progress and achievements of Fuzhou as a modern international city.

The article mentioned that Fuzhou is a famous hometown of overseas Chinese and has a deep relationship with Indonesia. Currently, there are more than 600,000 overseas Chinese from Fuzhou living in Indonesia. The “Two Countries, Twin Gardens” built in Fuzhou is a strategic measure to implement the “Belt and Road initiative” of the leaders of China and Indonesia, which is conducive to improving the level of Fuzhou’s opening up to the outside world and building “Maritime Fuzhou”.

At present, 36 projects in the Chinese region of the “Two Countries, Twin Gardens” project between China and Indonesia have been put into operation. Among them, the demonstration project – Indonesia Ocean Fishery Center has a total investment of 5 billion yuan and plans to build ten fishery industry bases. The first fishery base has been put into production and is located in Tuban City, East Java Province, Indonesia, with an annual planned output of 500,000 tons.

As an important part of the China-Indonesia “Two Countries, Twin Gardens” project, the construction of China-Indonesia City has also been put on the plan. According to the plan, China Indonesia City will revolve around two core service circles, the government affairs center and the cultural center. At the same time, three axes of business development axis, waterfront ecological axis and science, education and culture axis will be established, and six functional areas will be created: government service area, cultural exchange area, commercial service area, education service area, industrial concentration area, and industry-city integration area. According to KOMPAS, “China Indonesia City will become a new platform and bridge for China-Indonesia cooperation after it is completed and put into use, as well as a pioneer area for China-Indonesia trade and investment cooperation.”

In this report, it also focuses on the achievements of Fuzhou in implementing the “3820” strategic project and building a modern international city. The article praised Fuzhou’s natural scenery, historical context and social and economic development from seven aspects, including “Lucky Fuzhou”, “Unique Location”, “Coastal city”, “Natural city”, “The ancient capital of Bamin”, “Economic center” and “Policy preferences”. In addition, the new city landmark of Fuzhou – “Heart of Minjiang River”, Guling, Yantai Mountain, Fuzhou High-tech Industrial Development Zone, Silk Road International Film Festival and other Fuzhou characteristic business cards were all mentioned in this report .
