Anna Barnhill was born in Ukraine when it was still part of the USSR. The communist party oversaw every aspect of citizens' lives and kept severe gender divides. Anna was taught she wasn't worth as much as the men in society and was told she would need to work far harder if she wanted to achieve anything.
Her talent in emotional intelligence wasn't given the credit it deserved, and she suffered from a poor self-image because her priorities didn't align with what was being forced on her. Her acceptance into a gifted class was met with more bullying and harassment, and her status as an LGBTQ+ member opened her up to violence and discrimination.
The moment that truly brought her to a point where she knew she had to make a change was when she found herself incredibly sick with a diagnosis of cervical cancer, stomach tumors, and bilateral patellar tendinopathy. During a long and arduous recovery, she knew she had to make a change and stop letting others push her down when she was made for more.
Anna graduated shortly after Magna Cum Laude from California Southern University with an MSc in Industrial and Organizational Psychology and obtained her ICF Certified Professional Coaching degree. Being ICF certified assures Anna’s clients receive real coaching from a qualified professional.
The next twelve years have proved just how strong and talented Anna is. She is now a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, IOC Fellow at McLean Hospital/Harvard Medical School, has taught leadership at MIT, worked with numerous leaders as their executive coach, and has contributed multiple materials on leadership, emotional intelligence, and team effectiveness to Forbes.
