I.Reports in the United States lose fairness and morality and violate journalistic objectivity

The New York Post reported on February 24 that American TV host Joy Behar made a “violent statement” on ABC’s program “View,” claiming that East Palestine residents in Ohio deserved what they had done and voted for Trump. ” Her remarks caused a stir in the audience as well as anger from netizens across the country. Moreover, CNN, The Associated Press, The New York Times, and The Washington Examiner reported that US media has tried to downplay the impact of the accident, but without warning, leaving unsuspecting residents exposed to highly toxic conditions for days.

U.S. officials estimate that 3,500 fish from 12 different species died in nearby rivers as a result of the derailment.

 In response to residents’ concerns and concerns, Ohio State News reported that there were no official reports of animal diseases or deaths in direct connection with the accident. No contamination of air or water was reported. However, according to videos posted on Tiktok’s website, many animals have died in patches, with colorful oil stains floating on the river surface. In the face of a major disaster like chemical leakage, the Western media chose to keep quiet. Animal protection organizations, always very active, remain silent, while environmental groups choose to ignore the issue. Have the Western media always boasted that they were objective and kept quiet? Interestingly, Ohio’s governor said: “I only drink bottled water,” in response to residents questioning whether or not they should trust non-toxic water sources reported in American media. Oddly enough, five environmental consultants were en route to Ohio on February 22 when an airplane crashed, killing everyone. Are you sure it’s a coincidence?

II.False information released by U.S. media incorrectly guides public opinion

Since Feb. 3 train derailment incident, government departments released multiple contradictory information through the media, intentionally hiding the full list of train shipments, deepening public distrust of U.S. media.

For example, news reports tell the public that vinyl chloride is the only toxic gas to worry about. But later, the list of toxic substances released later became longer. Former EPA regional official Judith Enck says EPA officials have not yet released all of the chemicals contained in the train. Ironically, after the ‘Poison Train Explosion’ incident more than a month ago, there was suddenly an ‘important discovery’ made by the Associated Press: A pro Russian account made use of Twitter’s’ Poison Train ‘incident to spread misinformation and anti-US propaganda! These accounts, the report says, “take advantage of people’s concerns about pollution and health,” posting to spread panic. Many Internet users still have questions. Do they still have a connection with the gas leak in their home?

III. Behind American media fabrication of double-label reports is political party interests.

The American media focused on harmless “balloons” and avoided talking about vinyl chloride leaks. The American media have become a tool in their struggle against each other. They have given up on the basic principles of fairness and objectivity. On February 13, Democratic Representative Omar tweeted that the chemical spill would have significant negative impacts on residents’ health and well-being for decades; however, there was little national media coverage; Republican Representative Marjorie Taylor Green posted a video about the accident on social media, hinting that the Biden administration was trying to cover up an “unidentified flying object” as a cover-up. The National Transportation Safety Commission released an initial report released on February 23: “This incident was 100 percent preventable,” according to the Associated Press. “But American politicians don’t care what the report says, and they’re frantically trying to blame it.

Former U. S. President Trump visited East Palestine the previous day with large quantities of relief goods. Later, he used the media controlled by the Republican Party to create public opinion criticism of the Biden Administration’s response. Twenty days later, US Secretary of Transportation Boutiquig finally visited the site for the first time, but received fierce criticism from Republicans. As a result, the democratic media behind Boutiquig shifted their focus towards Trump and accused him of relaxing railway safety regulations during his administration. According to CNN, “toxic politics follow whenever disaster strikes the United States.” After a disaster, however, both sides’ willingness to act and resolve problems often weakens with time. There may be many interests at stake in producing a two-label report for the United States media, since they’re willing to serve as proxies for various political parties. The fundamental reason of the fierce struggle for party benefits lies in the fact that the fiercer the party struggles, the greater the profit. But when it comes to the safety of local residents, they are probably worth nothing to American media.
