SecureMaine invites area cybersecurity and privacy professionals to their first annual conference in Portland, Maine. SecureMaine is a new 501(c)3 non-profit established by a collaboration of security-related nonprofits to improve regional cybersecurity capacity by bringing leading experts, CIO and CISO executives, practitioners, and community members together for educational sessions and networking, to support the Maine security community and improve security regionally.
PORTLAND, Maine - Oct. 2, 2023 - PRLog -- The inaugural SecureMaine Conference, organized by the newly-formed SecureMaine, a 501(c)3 charitable non-profit, will take place Thursday, October 5, 2023, at our *new location* of Thompson's Point - Brick South, 15 Resurgam Place, Portland, Maine, with breakouts in Bissell Brothers Brewery new event space adjacent to the main hall.
Attendance fees are: $30 Advance Rate; $40 Event Day (space permitting). Registration is available online at https://www.securemaine.org
This full day conference covers information security issues as they relate to technology, governance, and architecture, and finishes with a roundtable discussion featuring CISOs / CIOs / CIPOs. The SecureMaine Conference content includes both cybersecurity and physical security.
Constituents attending this event will include individuals and organizations looking to improve their cybersecurity, physical security, and privacy protection. Attendees are likely to come from New England, mostly from Maine and nearby states. Up to 8 security CPEs are available depending on an attendee's continuing education path.
Presenters will include national experts, government agencies, relevant organizations, technologists, lawyers, consultants, strategists, and policy makers at national and local levels. Early confirmed presentations include (schedule additions / adjustments are ongoing):
- Keynote Dr. Erika Voss, VP Engineering and Security at Capital One, will discuss predicting insider threats,
- A presentation by a FBI representative on economic espionage threats relevant to rural states,
- A presentation by CISA / DHS featuring an analysis of threats, with a brief overview of services these entities provide.
- A panel with Capital One managers and strategists focused on cybersecurity and compliance
- A leading CISO/CIO roundtable with Maine representation including Tyler Technologies, Camden National Bank, Bangor Savings, United Way, and more.
- Other breakouts including topics covering weaponizing AI, the importance and methods of tabletop security exercises, third party risk exposures, and more.
