A game-changer for Syracuse’s young innovators: CADimensions brings 3D printing to life at the Museum of Science and Technology

By: Get News

CADimensions, a leader in engineering consulting and additive manufacturing, unveiled its 3D Printing Exhibit at the Museum of Science and Technology (MOST) in Syracuse on August 10, 2024. This exhibit is set to become a longstanding feature at the MOST, showcasing the transformative role of 3D printing in modern product development and serving as a crucial educational resource for Central New York’s youth.

Andy DiLaura, president of CADimensions, speaks to attendees during the unveiling of the 3D Printing Exhibit at the MOST in Syracuse, N.Y.

The 3D printing exhibit offers visitors an immersive journey through the complete product development process—from the initial concept sketch to the final 3D-printed prototype—highlighting the advanced capabilities of 3D printing. A highlight of the event was the live demonstration of a state-of-the-art Stratasys Origin One 3D printer, which captivated attendees as it printed an intricate, in-house designed piece. This demonstration allowed visitors to witness the technology’s capabilities firsthand while celebrating the collaboration between CADimensions and the MOST.

“We are thrilled to partner with the MOST in this joint venture. Being part of the Makers & Machines exhibit alongside companies like Tessy Plastics and Morse Manufacturing is a great honor, and we take immense pride in educating young innovators about the impact of engineering and additive manufacturing on our community,” said Andy DiLaura, President of CADimensions. “Through this partnership, we’re helping develop tomorrow’s engineers and makers, today.”

In addition to the exhibit, CADimensions made a substantial donation of $10,000, which included both cash and 3D printing services, to support the museum’s educational programs. This generous contribution reflects CADimensions' mission to inspire and equip the next generation of engineers and designers in Central New York.

Lauren Kochian, President of MOST, expressed her excitement about the collaboration, stating, “The MOST is so excited about this incredible display from our partner, CADimensions. Highlighting evolving technologies like 3D printing helps engage our visitors and teach kids about careers in high-tech fields right here in Central New York.” She added, “The CADimensions exhibit in our Tessy Machines & Makers sponsored by Marquardt exhibit is a perfect way to get kids excited about the whole project design process.”

With the MOST welcoming over 120,000 visitors in 2023, the 3D printing exhibit is expected to draw significant attention and inspire countless young minds. CADimensions and the MOST are also planning an upcoming event where one of CADimensions’ engineers will lead an interactive engineering class for families, offering a unique educational opportunity to the greater Syracuse community.
