Marquis Who’s Who Honors Amber A. Fields for Excellence in Home Care

UNIONDALE, NY / ACCESSWIRE / October 23, 2024 / Marquis Who's Who has honored Amber A. Fields for her expertise in home care. Mrs. Fields has dedicated her career to helping care for others. She provides in-home care to members of the community that need it the most.

Amber A. Fields

Turning a Setback into Success

Mrs. Fields's remarkable journey in the home care industry began long before she started Safe At Home Sidney Inc. Having received certification as a nursing assistant from the State of Nebraska, she established herself in the branch of health care a decade ago when she worked for the State of Nebraska's Medicaid Aged and Disabled (A/D Waiver) Program, which aided eligible residents in receiving needed home care services.

As time progressed, valuable community assets designed to help those in need, like nursing residences, gradually shut their doors. No one stepped up to fill the void. After witnessing this gap and seeing the adverse impact it had on her community and state, Mrs. Fields took it upon herself to address this serious problem.

Safe At Home Sidney Inc

Mrs. Fields believes her greatest strengths are empathy and understanding the needs of those around her. In 2021, she applied these attributes to establish Safe At Home Sidney Inc. to provide structured and quality care for people in need, especially those requiring home care and respite services for families.

The organization did not become successful overnight. When first starting the company, Mrs. Fields did not possess the funds to invest in the technology needed to manage cases and patient information digitally. Undeterred, she would memorize each patient's schedule and health details using flash cards.

"It was a challenging and demanding process, but it allowed me to really get to know the people I was helping," said Mrs. Fields.

These obstacles only strengthened Mrs. Fields' resolve. Today, the agency employs 200 people and serves approximately 187 homes, with plans to expand to more locations.

Familial Inspiration

When asked to name her inspiration, Mrs. Fields shows little hesitation in crediting her father. The respected school teacher and coach, who eventually rose to the rank of athletic director and assistant principal, instilled in his daughter the importance of hard work, perseverance, and above all, the patience she needs in her current vocation. He subscribed to the theory that a problem was not made in a day and would not be resolved in a day either.

Recognition, Community Involvement and Personal Pursuits

Mrs. Fields's efforts have garnered a significant degree of recognition. The Cheyenne County Chamber of Commerce bestowed Safe At Home Sidney Inc. as Business of the Year in 2022.

Mrs. Fields is civically active as a member of 3 County Chambers of Commerce, the Home Care Association of America, the Nebraska Panhandle Partnership, the Network Healthcare Alliance, Rotary clubs, and more. She partners with numerous nonprofit organizations by providing sponsorships and donations, such as rural schools, Keep Sidney Beautiful, Sidney and Greater Area Fund, CASA, and other nonprofits that she connects with while networking.

Mrs. Fields's greatest love is her family. She is a proud mother of six and enjoys spending time with her two grandchildren. Other leisure pursuits include reading, walking her dogs, camping and collecting antique furniture.

Vision for the Future

In the coming years, Mrs. Fields yearns to expand her company beyond Nebraska's borders and eventually address communities in need in Colorado and Wyoming. Ultimately, she would love to one day be able to offer compassionate and fulfilling care to as many people as she can.

"My favorite part of my profession is being able to assist families by enabling them to stay in the comfort of their homes," said Mrs. Fields. "Knowing that I can make a positive impact on the community through my work is also very rewarding."
