CTM Asset Management to be Managed as a Separate Entity, Led by Former Credit Suisse Asset Management Portfolio Manager Thomas Flannery
Chatham Asset Management, LLC (“Chatham”), a private investment firm, today announced that it has established a CLO management business, CTM Asset Management (“CTM”), and made a significant capital commitment to build the business and support its initial CLO issuance. CTM will be managed as a separate entity with distinct portfolio management, research analyst, and operations teams.
CTM is led by a dedicated team of professionals with decades of experience and established relationships in the leveraged loan market, and expects to hire an initial team of six to eight credit research analysts. The leadership team includes:
- Thomas Flannery, Group Head and Chief Investment Officer. Mr. Flannery joins CTM following 25 years at Credit Suisse Asset Management (CSAM) and predecessor companies, most recently as Senior Portfolio Manager and Managing Director. He has focused on building CLO platforms and managing loan portfolios since 2006. Previously, Mr. Sosland served as an Associate Director at Bear Stearns Asset Management and as a Vice President at Nomura Corporate Research and Asset Management. Mr. Sosland holds a BA in Economics and Political Science with high honors from Swarthmore College and is a CFA charterholder.

“Since Chatham’s founding in 2003, our team has been acutely focused on leveraged credit – consistently looking for ways to improve our knowledge and capabilities in these markets,” said Anthony Melchiorre, Managing Member of Chatham. “We are pleased to announce the launch of CTM and its world-class team. CTM is a natural extension of our core business and will be incredibly additive to Chatham’s research process, providing us with insights into an expanded number of corporate issuers and helping our team to source attractive investment opportunities that are well suited for our existing strategies.”
“Chatham is a pioneer in the leveraged credit markets with a robust infrastructure and impressive performance track record,” said Mr. Flannery. “I am excited to build an elite investment team and lead CTM’s entry into the CLO market.”
