Wowing guests since 2014, R House has truly become a Wynwood landmark, delighting locals and jetsetters from across the globe with its stellar culinary and beverage programs, epic drag performances, and a whole lot of Miami flair. Owned and operated by trail-blazing husband team Chef Rocco Carulli and Owen Bale, R House has become the ultimate hotspot for top-tier hospitality and high-energy entertainment for the past decade. Chef Rocco’s menu is a love letter to Miami with savory dishes and flavorful cocktails that cater to every palate under the rainbow. This summer, R House will toast to 10 incredible years by unveiling its biggest renaissance yet: completely re-designed bar and dining areas unrecognizable compared to the original design, new culinary and mixology concepts, and state-of-the-art audio-visual production facilities.
“If you would have told me 10 years ago that we would become the pioneers of Wynwood’s hospitality landscape, I wouldn’t have believed it. Our growth here has been an incredible journey and we’re so grateful for the experience,” says Carulli. “Miami has now become an international mecca, and our new menu reflects the city’s more sophisticated international palate. We elevated the culinary experience, but the vibe is still us, connecting people through food and building a sense of community at the table,” he added. “The R House experience is unique and continues to keep guest engagement at the forefront. The new design is chicer, but still inviting, the libations more flavorful, but still fun, and of course, our Queens are still sensational and over-the-top, but now they’re elevated on golden stages and beautifully lit,” says Bale. “We really revved up the production value across the board. It’s next level!” He added.
Heralded for his eclectic modern American menu with Latin influences, Chef Rocco Carulli’s new dinner concept allows guests to go on a culinary voyage of discovery. For the table, guests can enjoy a beautiful Charcuterie with an assortment of Spanish cheeses and meats; Baby Chorizo in a smoky honey glaze; and Guacamole with crispy bacon, feta, and roasted corn. Other shareable options include Duck Empanadas, Cuban Sandwich Bites, Cayenne Fried Chicken, and Pork Belly Tacos. From the sea, guests can indulge in Oysters with a mojo verde mignonette, Grilled Aji Panca Octopus with chimichurri puree, roasted red pepper salsa, and corn relish; and Shrimp Al Ajillo, sizzling garlic shrimp, with chili oil, lemon and parsley. Other seafood options include Tuna Tartare on tostada chips with jalapeno crema and sweet chili; and Red Snapper Ceviche with avocado, roasted corn relish, and amarillo leche de tigre.
The most stand-out changes to the menu are the meat and vegetarian options. Meat lovers can enjoy a variety of cuts – Skirt, New York Strip, Filet Mignon, and a decadent Tomahawk that will arrive at the table with a sparkler parade. An array of house-made sauces including Guasacaca, Borracha, Green Tomatillo, Chimichurri, Molho A Campanha, Chimichurri Butter, and Mojo Verde accompanies these dishes. Other meat dishes include the R Burger, topped with shredded mojo pork, Swiss cheese, chipotle BBQ sauce, caramelized onions, and papitas; Grilled Lamb Chops with mint chimichurri; and Spicy Brazilian Chicken.
Vegetarian dishes include the options of a Sweet Pea Falafel Bowl with arugula, shredded Brussels, jicama, apple, red onion, and feta; Vegan Cauliflower Bowl with cauliflower rice, roasted root vegetables, chickpeas, vegan feta, pepitas, guacamole and lime; Smashed Oyster Mushroom Butterfly, with heirloom baby carrots and tomatoes; and Roasted Sweet Potato Wedges with chimichurri butter.
The R House mixology program has gone through a similar rebirth. New curated libations include the Madame Butterfly – Ford’s gin, marmalade honey, lavender soda, butterfly flower, and fresh citrus; Honey Bear Old Fashioned – bacon-infused Woodford rye, honey maple, coffee-cacao bitters, and waffle cookie; Spritz Spritz Spritz – Grey Goose essence watermelon and basil, Aperol, fresh watermelon, elderflower, Lamarca prosecco, and citrus perfume; and the Dirty Pop Espresso Martini – Stoli vodka or Old Forester bourbon, caramel, cold brew espresso, and chocolate bitters served with a caramel corn basket. Award-winning fan-favorites remain on the menu including the La Reina Margarita, El Sancho Margarita, and Mojito Coqueto (“Best Margarita in Miami 2015” and “Best Mojito in Miami 2022” Miami New Times). Guests can now take the party to the next level with one of R House’s new Bottle Service options, such as the Superstar Parade ($500) which includes an epic sparkler parade experience, Herradura Silver Tequila, Stoli Elit Vodka, and two bottles of Prosecco.
The ambiance at R House continues to be vibrant and high-energy. Guests still step into a world of elevated pastel tones and lush fabrics designed by creatives Lilaj Segal and Sylvia Emery of La Conceptualist and Interiors Stylist Erica Saylor of Blue Mustard. Guests are now welcomed by a dramatic mirror entrance wall with bronze accents, gorgeous dusty rose floor-to-ceiling drapery, multiple cheeky neon signs, and disco ball installations boasting over 100 pieces each – the perfect backdrop for your next Instagram moment. Bronze ochre columns and ceiling beams, white quartz table tops, beveled mirror columns, whimsical Art Deco wallpapers, and new custom framed artwork featuring performers fill the space. However, the custom-built vanity-style lit mirrored bar – seating 12 – is the biggest statement piece of all. The outdoor patio evokes a summery coastal lounge feel with fluffy sunflower yellow banquettes and white and mustard striped umbrellas. Other renovations include a heavy DJ booth upgrade, a state-of-the-art audio-visual entertainment system with multiple TV and LED screens, and an expanded runway for performers to strut. While you’re waiting for your table, don’t forget to capture the new Art Deco-inspired exterior murals by international multidisciplinary artist Antonyo Marest. Marest’s pastel flamingos and palms fill the exterior walls of R House and can be seen on NW 2nd Avenue and NW 28th Street.
