CCHR is Hosting an Interfaith Event for International Holocaust Remembrance Day

The Nazis killed millions and their justification was psychiatry and psychology's theory of eugenics—that certain people were inferior and should be exterminated.

The Florida chapter of the Citizens Commission on Human Rights (CCHR), is hosting an interfaith event in remembrance of International Holocaust Day.

This event, to be held on Saturday, January 27th, from 11:30am - 1:30pm, will pay homage to the 6 million Jews and millions of others who died at the hands of the Nazis during World War II. The event is being held in the auditorium of the Church of Scientology Orlando located at 6770 Lake Ellenor Drive. For questions please call (407) 895-9917 or CLICK HERE to register for the event.

As published by the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum, "the United Nations General Assembly designated January 27—the anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau—as International Holocaust Remembrance Day, a time to remember the six million Jewish victims of the Holocaust and the millions of other victims of Nazi persecution."

Offered for consideration will be the similarities between the devastating abuses of Hitler's killing machine and the sanctioned but destructive actions of psychiatry today. Parallels will be drawn between the eugenics promoted by Hitler's psychiatric "doctors," their theories of a master race, and their torturous shock treatments used for experimentation and punishment, and today how a version of these same "treatments," are used in the name of therapy.

About CCHR: Initially established by the Church of Scientology and renowned psychiatrist Dr. Thomas Szasz in 1969, CCHR's mission is to eradicate abuses committed under the guise of mental health. The Florida chapter of CCHR is an award-winning nonprofit in the area of mental health human rights and government relations. L. Ron Hubbard, founder of Scientology, first brought psychiatric imprisonment to wide public notice: "Thousands and thousands are seized without process of law, every week, over the 'free world' tortured, castrated, killed. All in the name of 'mental health,'" he wrote in March 1969.
