First Hill Biocompatible Dental Implants For Decayed Teeth Replacement, Update

Summit Dental Care (206-292-9980), a family practice based in Seattle, WA, has announced updates to its range of dental implant options, now offering them to patients in First Hill.

Following the announcement, patients in First Hill can get biocompatible replacements for missing, decayed, or damaged teeth. Unlike dentures and bridges, which fail after 3 to 7 years and 5 to 15 years, respectively, Summit Dental Care’s dental implants last upwards of 25 years with proper oral hygiene and care.

More details can be found at https://summitdentalcareseattle.com

Summit Dental Care offers several different implant options based on the number of teeth that need to be replaced, namely single-tooth implants, multi-tooth implants — which typically support a fixed bridge or removable partial denture, and all-on-4 implants, which are preferred when entire rows of teeth, top or bottom, have to be replaced.

“Dental implants are widely considered to be the next best thing to natural teeth,” explained a spokesperson for the practice. “Choosing the right type of implant depends on factors such as your bone structure, the condition of your teeth, and your overall oral health.”

Dental implant procedures are relatively easy to perform but do take some time to complete, the practice explains. First, a titanium post is inserted into the jaw to serve as the root for the prosthetic tooth. Next, an abutment is added to the post to help hold the prosthetic in place. Lastly, the prosthetic — usually made out of porcelain — is affixed to the abutment and set in place. Because the titanium post needs to fully fuse with the jawbone before the next steps can be initiated, the entire process can take between 2 and 6 months.

In some cases, the jawbone, as it is, is not strong enough to support an implant. In these scenarios, Summit Dental Care performs bone grafting first to ensure there is enough mass to hold the titanium post in place long-term. This can add up to a year to the procedure time.

"I couldn't be happier with how my All-on-4 dental implants from Summit Dental Care turned out," explained a satisfied patient. "It’s been a fulfilling and transformative experience starting the process with virtually no teeth in my mouth and ending it with a fully functioning set of prosthetics. I can’t thank the team at Summit Dental Care enough for their compassion and expertise."
